About The New Blak

The Materials:

The New Blak relies heavily on sustainable bamboo and organic cotton fabric. They source all fabric for it's clothing line from a trusted Canada sustainable wholesale company.

The New Blak ensures that products made by featured artisans match our ideals for ethical and/or sustainable production.

The Process

When cutting their fabric they plan out the most efficient, productive cutting layouts to prevent fabric waste. When there are excess fabric scraps, we do not discard them. Fabric scraps are integrated into other parts of the dress-making process or are used in other products. For example, longer, thinner scraps are used to make the bias binding of the dresses, an integral part of finishing the raw edges of them.
